Getting Better Together: A Blended Support Approach to School Change

The purpose of the Getting Better Together Demonstration Project is to test the efficacy of a three-pronged model for continuous school improvement. The three pronged model for continuous school improvement includes: (1) school-based Leadership Team focused on indicators of effective practice in the Indistar platform; (2) district liaison to support the school Leadership Team; and (3) virtual coaching of the Leadership Team by CIL Education Specialists, with a gradual hand-off to the district liaison.

Moving Up Project

CIL in partnership with SC3 at delivered a series of professional learning opportunities by developing the knowledge and skills of assistant principals taking on the unique challenges of Oklahoma’s high-poverty/minority and low-performing schools. The Moving UP project's intent was to prepare the next round of daring leaders with data-driven vision and focus through collaborative decision-making and stakeholder engagement.

Transformation Academy 

Instructional Transformation is the “queen bee” of the Four Domains. The other three domains—Turnaround Leadership, Talent Development, and Culture Shift—serve primarily as stage-setters, getting the conditions right for what transpires among teachers and students in the classroom--instruction. In that magic triangle of teacher-student-content, the principal is absent; but when it comes to instructional transformation, the principal is the chief transformer.
